True Detective Mysteries radio series was based on the True Detective magazine. Later it was sponsored by Listerine and Oh Henry Candy,
but kept the same name. Each week the show presented the case history of an actual crime. Many were told from the criminals point of view. True Detective Mystery
Magazine ran from 1929 to 1930 and was the original idea like Unsolved Mysteries. The show would present case histories of actual crimes and offered rewards to the
listening audience for information or clues that would lead to an arrest.
